Description
Next Generation Image Quality
Designed to cover all hunting distance from short- to long-range, the Thermion 3 LRF XT60 features a premium 1280×1024, 12µm, <20 sNETD thermal sensor and the large 60mm lens first introduced in the Thermion 2 LRF 60 series. This combination achieves exceptional image quality, an incredible 2800m detection range, a generous 2-16x magnification range, and a wide 14.6° field of view.
Updated Focus Mechanism
The Thermion 3 LRF XT60’s focus mechanism has now moved to the middle turret. Located in the middle of the riflescope’s tube, this means focus can be achieved without having to reach to the front of the device, resulting in more comfortable operation and allowing for faster focusing when it counts most.
Safer, More Comfortable Hunting
A wide-angle eyepiece has been optimised for use with the Thermion 3 LRF XT60’s high-resolution micro-displays, ensuring comfortable and safer long-term observation through its industry-leading 65mm eye relief.
Redesigned Laser Rangefinder
The Thermion 3 LRF XT60 introduces a redesigned, more slimline laser rangefinder. Now located to the side of the objective lens, this laser rangefinder removes the risks associated with lens-integrated LRFs (such as lens cracking under high-calibre recoil). Though it is smaller than previous iterations, this LRF will reliably achieve accurate distance measurements out to 1200m with an accuracy of ±1m — providing valuable distance data and ensuring better accuracy and more confidence before taking a shot.
This laser rangefinder provides three distinct scanning modes:
- Single Measurement: provides a precise, one-time distance measurement with a press of the LRF button. Best for use when observing stationary targets.
- Scanning Mode: provides continuous, real-time distance data as you pan across the observation area. Ideal for use when observing multiple or moving targets.
- True Horizontal Distance (THD): calculates the effective horizontal distance to a target when shooting up- or downhill. Most useful in hilly or mountainous terrain.
Comfortable, More Natural Zoom Mechanism
For a more natural observation experience, the Thermion 3 LRF XT60 now features smooth, stepless zooming, rather than stepped zooming, and is presented with a completely redesigned zoom mechanism.
Zooming in and out can now be achieved by way of a zoom ring located on the eyepiece. This zoom mechanism features a removable a throw handle, making zooming much more effortless — no more taking your eye away from the scope to locate the zoom button!
Plus, to remain completely ambidextrous, the zoom function can be changed digitally via the scope’s settings to allow for left- and right-handed use (i.e. select clockwise or counterclockwise to zoom in).
More Control During Close Inspection
Pulsar’s picture-in-picture (PiP) mode presents a separate window in 10% of the screen, allowing you to zoom in on an object of interest without losing control over the FOV, allowing you to closely inspect your target whilst keeping track of movement within the observation area.
With two PiP modes available, the Thermion 3 LRF XT60 now features the rounded PiP option first introduced in the Trail 3 LRF riflescope, providing a rounded view in the centre of the screen and allowing for a more natural focal point that does not impede your view of the observation area.
Updated Control Layout
For enhanced ergonomics, greater comfort in the field, and to ensure control over every digital function is always within reach, the Thermion 3 LRF XT60 has adopted the same circular control layout and convenient function wheel first introduced in the Symbion LRF multispectral binocular series, optimising control over digital functions and navigation of menus.
Updated User Interface
In-keeping with its new control wheel, the Thermion 3 LRF XT60’s user interface has been updated to match those found in the Symbion LRF and Trail LRF series. Featuring more information on the status bar, improved menu grouping, and a visually clean design, this new UI offers a more streamlined layout that allows for more efficient menu navigation, better visibility, and easier access to key digital functions.
Unparalleled Display Quality
The Thermion 3 LRF XT60 features a stunning, large-format 2560×2560 AMOLED display, offering enhanced image quality, perfect blacks and high contrast, and a level of colour reproduction never seen before in a Pulsar thermal imager.
Long Life Battery
A dual battery system, with one rechargeable external battery and one replaceable internal battery, provides up to 8.5 hours of operation on a single charge, allowing you to keep your hunt going through the day and into the night.
A new battery saving proximity sensor located on the eyepiece recognises when the scope is not in use, automatically switching the display into standby mode. Raise the riflescope to your eye and the screen will switch back on almost instantly, ensuring you are always ready to go, whilst still making sure battery life is never unnecessarily depleted.
Plus, a newly designed battery cover now features a hinge, reducing the likelihood of dropping the cover when switching batteries in the dark. A simple twist on the battery cover and you’re ready to go.
A Visually Striking Design Overhaul
Perhaps the most instantly noticeable aspect of the Thermion 3 LRF XT60 is its fresh new design. A sleeker, more elegant profile retains more of the traditional design aesthetics of standard glass riflescopes, meaning it looks right at home on your favourite rifle (and still mounts on traditional 30mm rings).
The usual protections you’ve come to expect from Pulsar are still present, with a 6000j recoil rating allowing for use with high calibre rounds, an IP67 protecting it against dust and moisture ingress, and a magnesium alloy bodyshell protecting it against bumps, knocks, and scrapes.
Better Visual Comfort with 9 Colour Palettes
A selection of 9 colour palettes enables effective observation, each allowing you to optimise the device for specific scenarios and adapt to changing conditions.
- White Hot, Black Hot, and Red Hot are perfect for object detection.
- Rainbow and Ultramarine will increase recognition and identification capabilities.
- Sepia, Red Monochrome, and Violet are best for long, night-time observation.
- Green reduces the likelihood of eye strain and enhances viewing comfort over long periods of observation.
Packed Full of Image Enhancing Software
Image quality can be further improved by a trove of digital enhancement options, including:
- Pulsar’s Advanced Image Processing Algorithms: Increases the sharpness of the observed object, better identifying contours and displaying small object details such as branches, leaves, wires, and even an animal’s extremities in environments with small temperature differences.
- 3 Sensitivity Amplification Levels: Normal (ideal for clear and dry conditions), High (versatile option; good for most conditions), and Ultra (for the worst conditions, such as heavy rain, fog, and high humidity).
- Smoothing Filter: Reduces digital noise in the riflescope’s image, smooths background grain, and maintains optimal target brightness.
More Confidence in the Field: Built-in Ballistic Calculator
Designed to enhance your confidence in the field, the Thermion 3 LRF XT60 features a built-in ballistics calculator and Stream Vision Ballistics compatibility. Using data gathered by the integrated laser rangefinder, the riflescope’s integrated ballistics calculator will provide accurate trajectory corrections and a suggested point of aim (SPOA). It can also create ammo-specific profiles, allowing you to transfer this thermal riflescope from one rifle to another, without the elongated setup process.
A ballistic widget displayed on-screen will also provide ballistic data, along with suggested corrections — all you need to do is adjust your riflescope accordingly and you’ll be shooting with more confidence.
Customisable Reticles
An electronic reticle which is always in the same plane as the target, with 10 various reticle shapes and functions – direct shot type, ballistic, scalable, and regular. Each reticle offers 9 colour options.
The Thermion 3 LRF XT60 also features scalable reticles, which are scaled proportionally to any magnification changes. The angular dimension of the reticle remains unchanged at all magnification levels, enabling quick measurements of distances and adjustments when shooting at various ranges.
Effortless Zeroing
For speedy, effortless setup, the Thermion 3 LRF XT60 offers three ways to zero your riflescope:
- One Shot Zeroing: Fire a single shot and move the reticle to the point of impact, the Thermion 3 LRF XT60 will calculate the correction — the fastest way to zero.
- Zoom Zeroing: Ideal for accurate zeroing at longer distances, this option allows you to zero by increasing the magnification while adjusting the reticle for fine, precise movements.
- Freeze Zeroing: Captures a frozen image of your target after you fire a shot, allowing you to adjust the reticle without keeping the rifle aimed — a more comfortable and precise method of zeroing.
Built-in Video Recorder: Multiple Ways to Record
The Thermion 3 LRF XT60, like all of Pulsar’s thermal imaging devices, features a built-in video recorder and still image capture. Recording can be achieved in several ways, including via a quick button press, recoil activated recording, and shadow recording.
- Manual Recording: A quick press of the camera button and the riflescope will start recording. Hold the button down to switch between video and still image capture.
- Recoil Activated Recording (RAR): Automatically starts recording once a shot has been detected, with 30 seconds of video captured before and after the shot in order to capture all the action.
- Shadow Recording: recording on a temporary 30-second buffering loop, shadow recording will ensure that action is captured even if you are late to press the button, meaning your shot can still be captured even if you hit the REC button after the shot is taken.
Images and videos captured on the riflescope are saved on the device’s internal 128GB memory and can be downloaded via USB-C connection. Alternatively, connect the device to the Stream Vision 2 app and all footage can be downloaded straight to a tethered smartphone or tablet.
AI Shot Detection
This AI-powered feature will automatically highlight timestamps in your recorded video to indicate the moment a shot is taken, allowing you to skip straight to the shot without having to fuss about with searching through footage. For context, skipping to a shot will start 2 seconds before the shot was taken.
Shot Detection gives you full editing control, allowing you to easily add or delete shot markers. It will even allow you to flag incorrect shot detections, with the AI model learning with each flagged error and improving its output for future shot detections.
Shot Detection is designed to make reviewing and editing your video more efficient than ever.
Stream Vision 2
Available for Android or iOS smartphones or tablets, the Stream Vision 2 app opens up a wide range of connectivity features, including:
- The ability to use a mobile phone as a wireless remote to control and adjust the riflescope’s settings. View every change you make through the device on a smartphone or tablet screen in real-time. This feature also allows for remote recording of footage or the capture of still images.
- A gallery of photos and videos captured on the riflescope can be browsed through and downloaded. These videos and images can also be shared.
- Remotely update firmware and take advantage of all the latest digital features available for your device. Stream Vision 2 allows you to ensure your riflescope is always running to the best of its ability.
